Costume
Design
As a costume designer, I am responsible for creating the look and mood for actors and actresses in film, television and stage productions.
A costume designer does this by researching, designing, sewing and purchasing actual clothing and costumes worn by those on stage and by selecting or designing the accessories which help to define each character.
As a costume design I am required to provide physical and emotional support to every actor through the clothing to enhance characterisation.
The costume must work onstage by providing a strong visual support of the story, concept and context of the production as a whole.
